Do You Get Tired Easily?

Hi my favorite readers! While recuperating from our total knee replacement surgery, tiredness is a common occurrence. That even happens during the entire first year.

But…are you aware of getting tired easily years after your tkr? Sometimes I am so exhausted, I can hardly function. It happens most noticeable after exercising, or swimming. All I want to do is come home, take a shower, eat and veg out on the sofa.

Does this happen to you, too? I had no idea that tiredness would still be a ‘symptom’ 4.5 years post-tkr. Activities that do not even make others flinch, can cause me to totally pucker out. And…I’m not a wuss.

FYI: I do find that taking an iron supplement helps bring my energy level back up.

  • One month ago, I had the minimally invasive TKR and boy oh boy, am I tired all the time. I’m anemic and on iron pills. I can go just so long and then have to lie down for a bit. Sure am glad I’m retired, so I can do this! After my three times weekly outpatient rehab, I’m wiped out for the rest of the day. I miss my former energy level but then, I’m doing so well otherwise that I should just count my blessings. But I’m too tired to…
