Natural Way to Increase Resistance While Walking

A couple days ago I went on my daily 30-minute walk. The weather was cool, drizzly and breezy. Breezy may be an understatement. 🙂 As I started walking, I noticed something that I thought would be fun to share with everyone…

Starting my walk involved walking into the wind known as a head wind. It took more effort to walk and more strength to keep on track. The wind presented a force that required extra effort to stay on track. I couldn’t have done this in my early stages of recuperating from a tkr (and I don’t recommend other tkr newcomers do this…).

During my return journey, my back was against the wind. Known as a tailwind, the wind pushed me along. I still had to use extra pressure to keep my body balance on track, but not as much effort was required as compared to the headwind walk.
