Aquatic Straight Leg Lifts

Leg lifts are a common exercise during tkr recuperation to strengthen your quads, also known as thigh muscles. Stronger quads helps support your knee and keep it stabilized.

Anyways..here’s a fun way to do the exercise in water.

Get into shoulder-deep or over-your-head water, whichever you’re more comfortable in. Whatever floats your boat.

Straighten your knees and alternate lifting your right and left legs toward the water’s surface. It will resemble a kicking motion without bending your knee. You will feel your hip muscles working, if done correctly.

Do this exercise 10 times. Return to original position.

Of course, consult with your medical care professional before doing any new exercise to prevent injury.

Enjoy!
