Happy Labor Day!

Hi my favorite readers! Extending my wishes for having a Happy Labor (Labour) Day!

Here’s some U.S. history: The holiday is always celebrated on the first Monday of September. It was created by the labor movement as a way to express dedication to the economic and social achievements of American workers.

According to Wiki, Oregon was the first state to celebrate the holiday in the U.S. This happened in 1887. It became a federal holiday in the U.S. in 1894, after 30 states started officially celebrating it.

In a very summarized form: The holiday started in Toronto, Canada in the 1880’s. A Labour Day tradition throughout Canada consists of watching a football rivalry known as the Labour Day Classic.

Labor Day, also, unofficially marks the end of the summer season.

However you spend, and celebrate, your Labor (Labour) Day….enjoy and be grateful!!
