Hi everyone. We are living in a surreal time that is affecting many at multiple levels. The Coronavirus is a global concern. Ranging from entire industries to individual livelihoods, we need to remember the importance of paying it forward during the COVID-19 pandemic. How do we do that? Read on!
Many of us need yardwork, housework, or other similar services. Since freelancers at all levels are taking an income hit, how about finding a local one to hire for your project?
The income will be greatly appreciated and help on more levels than you can imagine.
Support local businesses
Instead of buying from a national store chain, support your local businesses. Money will be used to pay mortgages, buy food, keep families operating at healthy levels – among other essential things.
Check in with neighbors
Build a stronger community by checking in with your neighbors. See if they are doing ok, need anything, and/or anything else that suits your desire.
Calling, emailing, texting, or paying a visit can make all the difference in the world.
Catastrophies have a way of bringing people together. Now is the time.
Some people are simply uncomfortable asking for help, no matter how much they may need it. Take some time to offer your assistance whenever you believe someone seems in need. It costs nothing but your time and can make someone feel very special.
Buy gift certificates
So many businesses are suffering due to temporary closures, events cancelling, and other business losses. Buying a gift certificate can make the difference between them staying open or closing their doors forever.
Watch online performances
With the closings of so many public venues, some symphonies are offering online performances. What better way to help us get through these tough times than by sharing music?
Some performers may ask for donations as a show of appreciation. Do whatever you can to support them.
Donate to food banks
Food banks are being hit hard during this difficult time. Making a donation of canned goods and other nonperishable items can make a huge difference to those in need.
Donate to local charities
In addition to food banks, local charities are being hit hard. Do you have any clothing or other items that could be donated? Take a look around your home and garage. You likely do.
So, to quote the famous philosopher Red Green…”We are all in this together.”
