Song Lyrics for Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine’s Day in the United States. Music touches all souls and expresses feelings better than any other mode. So, I wanted to post some lyrics from popular songs that may express how we are feeling today. I hope you enjoy them…

For those of us involved with a special Valentine, one of the best love songs ever (in my opinion) will apply to you. If you are not familiar with this song, you are missing a beautiful tune. It is as follows:

ALWAYS by Irving Berlin
Everything went wrong,
And the whole day long
I’d feel so blue.
For the longest while
I’d forget to smile,
Then I met you.
Now that my blue days have passed,
Now that I’ve found you at last –
{end intro}

I’ll be loving you always
With a love that’s true always.
When the things you’ve planned
Need a helping hand,
I will understand always.

Always.

Days may not be fair always,
That’s when Ill be there always.
Not for just an hour,
Not for just a day,
Not for just a year,
But always.

I’ll be loving you, oh always
With a love that’s true always.
When the things you’ve planned
Need a helping hand,
I will understand always.

Always.

Days may not be fair always,
That’s when I’ll be there always.
Not for just an hour,
Not for just a day,
Not for just a year,
But always.

Not for just an hour,
Not for just a day,
Not for just a year,
But always.

For those of us without a special Valentine, but still wishing upon a star for one, the Moody Blues have come to your rescue with the following two songs:

I Know You’re Out There Somewhere by The Moody Blues
I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know I’ll find you somehow
Somehow, somehow
And somehow I’ll return again to you

The mist is lifting slowly
I can see the way ahead
And I’ve left behind the empty streets
That once inspired my life
And the strength of the emotion
Is like thunder in the air
‘Cos the promise that we made each other
Haunts me to the end

I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere you can hear my voice
I know I’ll find you somehow
Somehow, somehow
I know I’ll find you somehow
And somehow I’ll return again to you

The secret of your beauty
And the mystery of your soul
I’ve been searching for in everyone I meet
And the times I’ve been mistaken
It’s impossible to say
And the grass is growing
Underneath our feet

I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere you can hear my voice
I know I’ll find you somehow
Somehow, somehow
I know I’ll find you somehow
And somehow I’ll return again to you
From the words that I remember
From my childhood still are true
That there’s no so blind
As those who will not see
And to those who lack the courage
And say it’s dangerous to try
Well they just don’t know
That love eternal will not be denied

I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere you can hear my voice
I know I’ll find you somehow
Somehow, somehow
I know I’ll find you somehow
And somehow I’ll return again to you

Yes I know it’s going to happen
I can feel you getting near
And soon we’ll be returning
To the fountain of our youth
And if you wake up wondering
In the darkness I’ll be there
My arms will close around you
And protect you with the truth

I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know you’re out there somewhere
Somewhere you can hear my voice
I know I’ll find you somehow
Somehow, somehow
I know I’ll find you somehow
And somehow I’ll return again to you

Watching And Waiting by The Moody Blues
Watching and waiting
For a friend to play with
Why have I been alone so long
Mole he is burrowing his way to the sunlight
He knows there’s some there so strong

Cos here there’s lot of room for doing
The thing you’ve always been denied
Look and gather all you want to
There’s no one here to stop you trying

Soon you will see me
Cos I’ll be all around you
But where I come from I can’t tell
But don’t be alarmed by my fields and my forests
They’re here for only you to share

Cos here there’s lot of room for doing
The things you’ve always been denied
So look and gather all you want to
There’s no one here to stop you trying

Watching and waiting
For someone to understand me
I hope it won’t be very long

And, for those of us who do not have a special Valentine and have given up on finding one…the Rolling Stones following condensed song lyrics may apply to you:

You can’t always get what you want by The Rolling Stones
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need

However you decide to view this day, irregardless of your situation….
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Songwriting Concerns

While my thoughts are still buzzing around after my yearly follow-up for my tkr, I thought I’d take a break from it and write about something else.

Tonight I am enjoying the intellectually stimulating Red Green Show. Each episode has Harold and Red sitting by the campfire singing a song. The song performed on tonight’s episode did not rhyme nor make any sense at all. Add this to Red’s voice lacking any tone and…. It was great! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways….it got my creative juices flowing since I’ve been involved with songwriting lately. I have a thing about wanting things to rhyme. I’m not so heavy into that now since hearing Red and Harold. ๐Ÿ˜• I threw together these short poems.
Enjoy!

Being a song writing novice,
Can be rather overwhelming
When it comes to being stumped,
Just do it and quit whining….

**************
Red Green on guitar,
Harold on spoons,
Sing about life,
While sitting in the boons.
*********
So worried about not rhyming lyrics,
Just sit and sit while tossing proses,
Only to watch a Red Green show,
Prove it comes and goes in doses
***********
It don’t rhyme,
It don’t jive,
Makes me laugh,
And that’s no crime.
